The psychological disorder presented in this case on a Hispanic Male with MDD is mood disorder, which is mainly characterized by depression in adversity (Hariri & Shin, 2011). There are three possible pharmacotherapeutics which can be relied on to try and counter depression in the patient mentioned in the case study of a Hispanic Male with MDD. The first one is Zoloft 25 mg orally daily which in most cases is effective but leads to erectile dysfunction (Drugs.com, 2018). The second type of medication is Effexor XR 37.5 mg orally daily which does not reflect any positive changes in the patient until its dose is increased (Drugs.com, 2018). The last type of pharmacotherapeutic is Phenelzine 15 mg orally TID which leads to fluid bolus, a condition which worsens the state of the patient.

From the potential impacts recorded from the use of the three possible pharmacotherapeutics, the most appropriate is Effexor XR 37.5 mg administered orally daily (Effexor XR, 2019). The first administration of the dose does not have any effect on the condition shown by the patient but when it is increased to 75 mg, a positive change is observed. It is appropriate to continue with the same dose over the patient since it does not show any side effects and is proving to counter the depression condition shown by the patient.
