Education is an important element in the human life and a basic need that the law protects. Educational systems have a noble duty of ensuring that students gain the required concepts and skills that are applicable to real-life situations. In my situation, I have learned that the study of polynomials in mathematics is important to the student both during and after school in real life.
The great question that goes through students’ minds as they undertake their studies is “how will this help me?” Well, polynomial concepts are required in numerous fields since it involves equations represented on a graph for analysis or structural design. In engineering, for instance, polynomials can be used to design massive structures like roller coasters, which are useful in providing leisure engagements ( Gutierrez, Schicho, & Weimann, 2015 ). It can also be applied in the structural design of bridges and other structures involving curves.

In the business industry polynomials has been applied in the modeling of markets by determining how a change in price will affect the performance of a product in the market. Such information is important for pricing and cost analysis. The concept can also be applied in real life to make decisions on how changing a factor will influence other aspects of our life ( Gutierrez, Schicho, & Weimann, 2015 ). The goal of education is to enable the learner to make reasonable judgments and some of the concepts learned in the school are often applied in real life even without the leaner realizing it.
This lesson plan will utilize hands-on activities, technology, group projects, and problems solving opportunities for students in daily activities from sports, business, engineering, and solving of life situations involving variables. These broad applications of polynomial knowledge make it almost as essential as knowing how to add, subtract, and divide or multiplication of values. Moreover, the concept of polynomials will be applied in other courses like business and physics, which makes it essential.
