Preeclampsia is a condition that affects pregnant women. Various symptoms of preeclampsia include high blood pressure, and also after twenty weeks of pregnancy, there may occur some proteins in urine (Rachel Liberto, 2019) . Mainly, preeclampsia occurs when a woman has never encountered high blood pressure before, but she meets one during pregnancy. However, having high blood pressure does not necessarily show that one is experiencing preeclampsia; it can also result in another problem; hence, pregnant women are advised to go and be checked. Research has shown that preeclampsia may affect between 5-8% pregnant women ("Preeclampsia: Symptoms, Risks, Treatment and Prevention", 2019) . If preeclampsia is undiagnosed, it can lead to eclampsia, which is a dangerous condition since it puts the mother and the baby at risk, and in some cases, it leads to death. However, preeclampsia can be avoided by knowing the symptoms of the disease hence seeking help from doctors which advice on what to do. In most cases, a doctor can advise a woman to give birth if she has already been affected by preeclampsia since it is the safest but scary way to do away with preeclampsia. Therefore, women are advised to visit the clinic regularly for them to get more information from the doctors in cases regarding preeclampsia.

Target Audience

The target audience of this brochure are the target women. However, first time moms, women who their mothers or sisters have ever experienced preeclampsia, the ladies younger than twenty years and older than forty years, women who have ever encountered high blood pressure or experienced kidney disease before pregnancy and lastly obese women and those who has a BMI of 30 and above are also at risk in getting preeclampsia ("Preeclampsia: Symptoms, Risks, Treatment and Prevention", 2019) . Therefore, the brochure will be able to educate this class of women and get to know more about preeclampsia.

Causes of Preeclampsia

The exact causes of preeclampsia have not yet been revealed out; however, researchers are thinking that it can result due to poor nutrition or having big body fat. Also, when there is a lack or insufficient blood flow to the uterus, preeclampsia can occur. If a pregnant woman needs to know that if she is suffering from preeclampsia, she is supposed to visit the clinic most of the times. The pregnant woman will be tested her blood pressure, urine levels, and also blood tests can be carried out to find out if preeclampsia is present in the body or not (Cold et al., 2019)

Symptoms and Treatment of Preeclampsia

The signs of preeclampsia are classified into two. One there is mild preeclampsia which occurs due to high blood pressure, presence of proteins in urine and water retention. The second is severe preeclampsia, which is classified by nausea, vomiting, headaches unclear vision, pain in the upper abdomen, and inability to withstand bright light. If a woman notices that she is undergoing these symptoms, she is supposed to contact her doctor quickly before the problem grows into a big one. Treatment of preeclampsia mainly occurs according to how a pregnant woman has been keeping in touch with her doctor. If a doctor notices that a woman has already developed preeclampsia and she is almost delivering, the best advice a doctor gives is for the woman to give birth ("Preeclampsia: Symptoms, Risks, Treatment and Prevention", 2019) . In the other case, when one experiences mild preeclampsia and the baby is not yet fully developed, she is advised to lay on her left side since the weight of the baby will be taken off from the major blood vessels. The pregnant lady is also recommended to take food rich in protein regularly and drink eight glasses of water per day. Lastly, this woman should increase prenatal checkups.

Improving Health Literacy

Health literacy should be improved, and this condition should be made known all over, especially for the first time moms. Nowadays, technology is all over the world, and the best way to make preeclampsia known all over is through the media. Social media and creating brochures are some of the best ways of creating awareness about preeclampsia. Preeclampsia affects the mother if it is appropriately treated. It can lead to severe issues such as liver failure or development of cardiovascular problems. Preeclampsia not only affects the mother but also affects the baby. The condition prevents the baby from getting a supply of blood through the placenta. Due to this, the child does not get enough oxygen and can result in delivering a baby who has a low weight ("Preeclampsia: Symptoms, Risks, Treatment and Prevention", 2019) . However, if preeclampsia is noticed early, a woman can provide a healthy baby if she has been conducting prenatal clinics regularly. Such information is essential, and when it is shared widely, it will lead to improving health literacy. The doctors are also ready to improve health literacy regarding this issue, whereby they advise mothers to come for regular checkups to detect preeclampsia. In-case, one had preeclampsia due to high blood pressure; the doctors always give high blood pressure treatment options until the baby is delivered safely (Cold et al., 2019)

Conclusion

Preeclampsia is a condition which should be made known by everyone in the world. Especially for women, this condition can affect them during pregnancy. Most of the times, preeclampsia occurs due to high blood pressure, mostly in cases whereby one has never experienced such a situation before. If a pregnant lady notices to have the symptoms of preeclampsia, she is advised to visit the clinic to seek help from the doctor. The condition can lead to death for both the baby and mother and therefore, seriousness about this disease should be adhered to. Through the creation of awareness regarding the condition, it will be easier to deal with cases regarding preeclampsia.
