Preventing juvenile delinquency is critical to every society and community in bringing up responsible children. I do agree with the opinion in the article that home visitation and Head Start have comprehensive programs that involve experienced professionals and nurses who frequently interact with mothers who earn low income and possess high-risk factors. Moreover, to prevent delinquent behavior, noble parenting is of essence and should be compounded with skills especially during adolescence. If parents can regulate their children’s emotions, it will reduce criminal acts, hence, prisons will not be receiving young offenders ( Saminsky, 2010) . Juvenile crimes affect families, neighbors, friends, and teachers. Therefore, prevention programs should be developed to help children at the early stages of their lives for them not to adopt delinquent behaviors.

Besides, juvenile delinquency can be accelerated by weak parental guidance, sexual abuse, criminal guardians, poor child-care habits, low income in the family, and low intelligence. These factors can lead to increased antisocial behaviors if no care is taken to correct at the early stages. The University of Rochester Nurse Home-Visitation Program has been successful where nurses visit homes to advise on the mother’s well-being at pregnancy, child’s development and health, and providing guidelines on how the community should support the family (Healy & Rodriguez, 2019)

The visitation program has reduced cases of child abuse, and future deviant behaviours that can lead to imprisonment. The program should be supported by the government rather than allocating millions of dollars when the crisis is beyond control. Early interventions are recommended because they are useful if implemented using the Head Start Program, where school kids are taught to alleviate the possible risks that can lead to delinquent behavior being controlled ( Saminsky, 2010) . Besides, parents are provided with social services to help bring up children who cannot be easily lured into committing crimes (Healy & Rodriguez, 2019)

I believe there are other useful and reliable strategies than the ones provided in the article. Early intervention programs should be emphasized and made mandatory for early intervention before adolescent starts where most delinquent behaviors are experienced. Also, returning the child to healthy routine development will require more effort if they are not guided and moulded at their early stages ( Saminsky, 2010)

In conclusion, child development is a continuous process where the two programs recommend that, there is room for improvement to assist the youths in high-risk environments. Head Start and Childhood Home Visitation Programs are effective in ensuring juvenile delinquencies are reduced to manageable levels (Healy & Rodriguez, 2019)
