The following procedures outline the preventive and maintenance requirements for cleaning(burning) and validating (turning) of paint racks:
All possible precautionary measures should be applied to ensure that any damaged surface(s) is/are cleaned thoroughly and free from moisture, rust, dust, dirt, oil grease as well as other contaminants.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
Blast painting and cleaning should not be performed in cases where the temperature of the surfaces is below 3 0 C above dew point or where the air’s relative humidity is more than 85%.
Any paint that is deemed to have been inappropriately applied should be removed followed by an immediate repainting with strict adherence to the proper painting requirements.
During surface preparation, blast-cleaning is the recommended method. However, under specific circumstances such as limited access to blast-cleaning, nearness to electrical components, and high risk for damage of equipment, power tool or hand cleaning should be used. After surface preparation, solvent cleaning should be conducted before painting.
If a previously painted surface lies next to a damaged surface that is undergoing maintenance, cleaning should be extended by 25mm to the neighboring coating on each side.
Any surface that has been previously coated should be protected with a screen or an appropriate shield to reduce any likelihood of contamination or damage before the start of maintenance.
Where paint coating is found at unintended parts such as on the stainless-steel surfaces, it should be hand wiped using a cleaner if still wet or removed by rubbing with a fine sand paper. The removal of the coating is done to restore the racks to their initial surface conditions.
The application of rollers or brushes for maintenance of damaged surfaces under instances where spray application is untenable should only be conduced after the company’s approval.
While using brushes, it is importance to make that the coat obtained is smooth without detrimental or deep brush marks.
