I partook the role of a project manager in the ADIHEX promotional campaign that was aimed at creating awareness about the event and attracting consumers from across the globe. As a project manager, my role was to plan, execute, and monitor activities involved in the social media campaign to completion. As a leader, I was accountable for the success or failure of the project. I chose to be a supportive project manager by emphasizing on fulfilling the needs of the consumers by enhancing the processes utilized in achieving the intended objectives. I ensured that I pushed the project team to achieve the intended goals and objectives. Besides my role as a project manager, I also took the role of a social media manager in charge of the YouTube account where I was responsible of sharing information about the event in the channel and also respond to the concerns of the audience as shown in Appendix 3. Other roles I engaged at include editing, photo shooting, videography, covering the different sectors of the exhibition during the preproduction and production of the campaign as shown in Appendix 1 and Appendix 5. My contribution in the ADEHIX promotional campaign as a project manager played a significant role in successful completion of the awareness campaign.

Responsibilities 

As a project manager, it was my responsibility to guide the entire team in developing the idea that would see enhanced awareness concerning ADEHIX. Nonetheless, all the project team members participated in determining the goals and objectives of the project as well as strategies and concepts applied in creating awareness as shown in Appendix 1. However, I gave the leadership that was needed to have the team meet and plan on activities that would be partaken in the course of the campaign (Henkel et al., 2019). Furthermore, it was my role to monitor the ongoing activities to determine that everything is following the planned strategies as shown in Appendix 4. As a result, I constantly communicated with the social media manager and the information manager to ensure that they were abiding by the outlined planned in creating the awareness as shown in Appendix 6. It was my role as a project manager to motivate the team members to continue pursuing the collective goals and objectives even when it was challenging. I achieved this by ensuring that the team members were acknowledged whenever they hit different milestones. Besides the leadership role, I also created information shared through ADEHIX 2021 YouTube channel and conduct data analytics to assess the impact being made. Furthermore, I was responsible for responding to questions and concerns showed by the audience via the YouTube comment section.

Influence on Client 

My role in the ADIHEX promotional campaign had a positive impact to the client, in this case the event organizers because the project I was heading provided an alternative advertisement strategy. ADIHEX 2021 organizers were planning to attract customers from North America, Asia, and Europe since they have not been giving the exhibition a lot of attention in the past years. Therefore, through offering my leadership to the project team, it was possible to make an impact because the social media activities demonstrates that there were interactions with individuals in the target continents. Additionally, through my role as a social media manager responsible for the YouTube channel, I managed to create a lot of awareness concerning the exhibition through the platform. YouTube allows the use videos that are more educative since the audience had an opportunity to have a small glimpse on the activities that will be taking place during the event. Furthermore, it was possible to show visual images on the level of preparedness that the event organizers had made towards having a successful exhibition. As a result, the use of YouTube among the social media platforms to advertise the ADEHIX 2021 exhibition was largely successful because it reached the targeted audience. The success achieved by the campaign is also attributed to the collaboration between the event organizers and the project team because they were willing to provide information about the exhibition and even link us with other partners.

Influence on Target Audience 

My role as a project manager influenced the provision of all relevant information to the consumers across the globe that had interest in the exhibition. As a project manager, my responsibility was to ensure that the entire team worked towards achieving the interest of the consumers. The social media campaign provided all the key information such as the date, location, charges, and transport arrangements in all its platforms. Accordingly, the visitors were able to plan their budget for the event and avoid being stranded in a foreign country. Furthermore, it was also possible for the visitors to access the schedules for different arenas, which helped them to also plan on where they should be at a specific time. The exposure of the schedule to the public played an essential role in ensuring that the visitors did not miss to visit the arena for various sectors that were of interest to them since that would mean they did not meet their objective even after traveling. In a nutshell, my role as a project manager and a social media manager on YouTube greatly helped to achieve customer satisfaction as the visitors were able to manage their expectations and create schedules that aligned with their interests in the exhibition.

Influence on Project Goals and Objectives 

As a project manager, I am glad that the team managed to meet its goals and objectives for the ADEHIX promotional campaign conducted on various social media platforms. The promotional campaign aimed at sharing information to the general public about the event on a real-time basis. It was possible to achieve this through the activities conducted on various platforms including Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. I monitored team activities to ensure that they aligned with the goal of creating awareness. Furthermore, I also ensured that it was possible for the team members to acquire information from various partners that were taking part in the exhibition. Accordingly, it was possible for the information manager to have effective engagements with ADEHIX partners because they willingly provided all the information required to complete the project. I can measure my success on this aspect in two ways. Firstly, the feedback I acquired from observing the performance of the other team members. Both the social media manager and information manager executed their responsibilities under my leadership and none of them complained or showed dissatisfaction from our operations. Secondly, data analytics for the YouTube channel shows that I managed to attract attention from an audience in the targeted countries in Asia, Europe, and North America. Therefore, the social media campaign successfully promoted the event and it achieved the outlined objectives on informing the public about the exhibition.

Challenges Encountered 

It was my role as the project manager to ensure that all the activities involved in the promotional campaign were successfully completed within the stipulated deadlines. Therefore, I worked under pressure to ensure that all the team members executed their duties and accomplished them within the given timeline. Furthermore, as a team leader, it was my responsibility to ensure that I have acquired all the resources required in running a successful campaign (Gaurav, 2016). The team was working under a constrained budget given the perception that social media is the cheapest form of advertisement. As a result, it was challenging to ensure that quality work was done within the stipulated budget and no extra charges were incurred. Nonetheless, I lobbied for funds that would help the organization achieve its objectives from ADEHIX 2021 organizers and they were supportive since we shared a common goal of creating awareness about the exhibition. Another challenge encountered within the span of the project relates to communication with the various partners engaged in the project. Given the constraint of time, some of the partners were not conscious with the timelines because they took time before they responded on inquiries made regarding their products or company. As a result, it was not possible to feature all the organizations that participated in the exhibition through social media platforms. Nevertheless, despite the challenges encountered, the social media promotional campaign for ADEHIX 2021 was successful.

Conclusion 

In conclusion, the ADEHIX promotional campaign was successful because it managed to capture the attention of consumers in targeted countries. I have a great conviction that my role as a project manager spearheading the team involved in running the campaign I contributed to the achievements made. Moreover, I ensured the client’s goal of creating awareness about the event to the global community was achieved with more emphasize laid to attract Asians, Europeans, and Americans into the event. I also managed to keep the project team members motivated even when they worked under pressure to meet the timelines set and achieve the objectives of the campaign. On the other hand, the visitors for the ADEHIX 2021 managed to make effective plans for the event because adequate information was available, which enhanced customer satisfaction in their experience during the exhibition.
