Protestantism is a form of Christian faith, a practice that originated with the Protestant reformation; the movement was started by some people who Protestant against abuses within the church. Many people were not pleased with how the churches were run as lots of abuses occurred where some people were discriminated and abused. Due to the need to be free from church abuses some people protested against the abuses terming them as unnecessary and this lead to a split from those who felt or were abused and those against the abuse. The protest against abuse showed how people were willing to accept change and that Americans were not ready to be denied or abused regarding their religion.
Early colonists faced lots of challenges; the colonists were not accepted as people were against them and thought that they had come to inaugurate their ways of lives to them and change the way they did things. Early colonists faced harsh treatment from people because people saw them as intruders who had come to spy on them. The early Protestants were not respected as they were seen as rebels and no one wanted to associate with them especially those who were against them as they referred to them as law breakers of the gospel. Convincing people to join them was not easy as many people were not ready to change thus they had to spend lots of time with people explaining and convincing people on the reasons why they should accept their and their teachings. Growing something from the start is not easy, and the early colonists had to be careful with their teachings to ensure that their teachings were seen as positive and not negative for the new faith to grow and prosper. Discipline mattered a lot because the well the colonists were well mannered the greater the chances they had of acquiring more followers.
