Question 1
Aliens seeking admission into the United States are subject to regulations set by the Authority of Immigration and Nationality Act. Nurses and examining physicians get guidelines from The Division of Global Migration and Quarantine (DGMQ). The examining officers help the state in identifying immigrants with possible inadmissible health conditions. The CDC also for over 50 years have been containing, controlling and eliminating diseases that are the cross border. Globalization has enabled the natural movement of people, which in turn heightens the spread of diseases and disease-causing pathogens. CDC division of DGMQ mainly emphasize activities that reduce the public health risk.
Some data worth noting is that one million people travel into the USA daily while Americans take close to 75 million trips annually hence the risk of disease transfer is very high as some of these travels get into the country through illegal routes (Kahn et al, 2010). DGMQ works together with more than 600 physicians doing immigrants medical examination outside the USA and over 5000 physicians working inside the USA. The figures tell how serious the state is when it comes to public health ( DGMQ, 2019 ).

In the APHA portal I find maternal and child health important because; many women and children die worldwide due to lack of quality health facilities. Investing in the prevention of such deaths will improve the healthcare of women and children. Furthermore, equipping the women with education and knowledge on good health practices would also act as a lifetime solution (Stanhope & Lancaster, 2015). On the APHA website, there are hundreds of resources on how to prevent maternally and childhood deaths. Webinars like Black Mama Matters, supporting breastfeeding worldwide, and Every Woman Every Child movement ( Maternal and Child Health, n.d ).
