Improving the delivery of care within health care organizations is important to realize patient safety and quality of care. There are different strategies adopted by health care organizations to improve the quality of care. Some of the strategies adopted include evidence-based practice, the use of new technology, and collaboration among healthcare practitioners. This paper will focus on the pros and cons of the different methods of improving the delivery of care within health care organizations.

Pros and Cons of Evidence-based Practice

Evidence-based practices make use of findings and research from multiple studies and clinical trials. The main advantage of using evidence-based practices is that it uses interventions based on multiple studies reviews and not simply subjective interpretations from the reviewers (Mackey & Bassendowski, 2017). Evidence-based practices might have a limiting factor since it fails to consider personal experiences by medical practitioners. This is because evidence-based practice relies mainly on research and not on any experiences.

Pros and Cons of Collaboration

Collaboration among healthcare practitioners is also another method of improving delivery care. This collaboration should not just be among the nurses but also patients and physicians. Since nurses are the ones who see the early changes in the patients, there should be good communication existing between the nurses and physicians. Interprofessional collaboration helps patient treatment since it may require health care professionals from various backgrounds to coordinate with one another to create and deliver a comprehensive treatment plan. The disadvantage with collaboration is that nurses might face is a lack of trust from physicians. Additionally, in emergency situations, collaboration and communication might require take some time and this can hinder a fast delivery of care.

Pros and Cons of New Technology

Digitalizing of health records through electronic health records (EHR) has been one of the biggest step in improving the delivery of care. This helps to keep track of patients' status and data leading to fewer medical errors and better patient quality care (Campanella et al., 2015). As much as technology has made lives easier, it comes with disadvantages too. One of the biggest problem is the malfunctioning of equipment which causes derail of work. This applies to places that rely so much on technology for their operations.

In conclusion, there are pros and cons of using different methods of improving the delivery of care. Evidence-based practice improves research but does not consider personal experiences. Collaboration improves communication but can hinder a fast delivery of care. Technology through EHR reduce medical errors but malfunctioning equipment leads to derail of work.
