The United States has been reported to be an unsafe zone for women. Statistics collected indicated that out of every five women one would have to encounter rape at a certain point in her life. This statistics is enormous compared to men. For men in every seventy-one, only one of them might be raped. Only eight percent of the rape cases in the United States take place at work. This might lead to the case being dropped by the authorities. Such experience will be disturbing to the lady who was sexually assaulted.

Victims were abused by their family members, their friend, strangers, and even their teachers. Many argued that if they could have reported, they would have destroyed the career also before it started. Through the media, there were a higher number of those who were raped and did a report. This number was higher compared to what report by National Crime Victimization Survey the results showed that through social media people are open to sharing what they are not able to share with either the police or the research organizations (Yung, 2013) . It is only through social media that a victim claimed that Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh once tried to rape her some years back. People reacted to that until it came to the attention of the president who acted accordingly. Therefore through our media most likely social media, rape cases can be reported in large numbers.
