How People From New Jersey Feel About the New Republic
The formation of the New Republic brought about mixed feelings to the people of New Jersey. Most people felt like it was a relief and that they would be more independent, and the government would support them more, and others felt like it would affect them negatively. They perceived that they would now have less population; hence, they will fully benefit from all the amenities in their state as New Jersey has most restaurants, museums, parks, and more infrastructures. They saw this as an advantage to them.
The economy would be even better because their taxes would now concentrate more on growing their state and not be shared with others. Their leaders' concentration would not be divided, which meant that they will get even better services from them. Some felt that there would be war and competition between them and the New Republic, but their leaders assured of their safety and that the New Republic was peace-loving.

Some people in New Jersey felt that their businesses would go down and not make as many profits as before because many people had left New Jersey due to what they called expensive life, and they went to the New Republic. Others felt that New Jersey developments would go down because of the formation of the New Republic. They believed that the New Republic people contributed to the growth of New Jersey with their taxes. They felt that there was no need to have a new republic to continue enjoying the benefits of having a larger population.
Why New Jersey Ratified the Constitution so Quickly
In December 1787, New Jersey became the third state to ratify the Constitution. The delegates took only six days to establish the rules, review the documents, and complete the deliberations (Glass, 2017) . This was the shortest time ever used to ratify a constitution. During the ratification, New Jersey gained essential economic protection under the new Constitution.
The Constitution was ratified this fast because New Jersey feared being shut out of their decision-making process when Virginia's delegates planned to call representations based on the number of people in each state. The New Jersey delegates wanted each state to be treated equally, and they advocated that each state gets one vote during the representation in the house and the senate. They wanted to get the chance to prosper, and after the rectification, New Jersey grew, and there was the establishment of many factories. This helped the state to develop and become better.
New Jersey was fighting for the American citizens' fundamental rights, which is why they ratified the Constitution. They wanted fair justice, liberty, and prosperity of their citizens. They amended it because they wanted Congress to have the power to collect taxes and duties that helped in paying all the debts and provide security to the United States. The duties and excises were to remain the same in the country. Congress was also responsible for borrowing money on behalf of the U.S. It was also responsible for establishing an equal law based when it comes to bankrupt.
They wanted the executive power vested to the U.S president, and the president should serve a term of 4 years together with his vice-president. And the president shall remain as the commander in chief. The power of the Judicial was vested in one Supreme Court. Congress was given the power to determine the type of punishment that was to be given to those who committed treason to the country.
