The human resource management department is responsible for facilitating the recruitment process by ensuring that it identifies the needed personnel. Recruitment is a step by step process that involves attracting, interviewing, selecting, and hiring the right candidate. The employees are vital assets in the organization; hence, hiring the right personnel to fill a vacancy should be done diligently. The recruitment process involves activities such as drafting of job descriptions and analysis, which is essential in giving a clear reflection of what people expect. It begins by posting job positions in newspapers, social media, and advertisements. The different organization uses distinct methods of recruitment depending on their ability because of some ways are expensive. Again, the mode of recruitment varies depending on the number of employees one wants to hire. Liberty engineering is a large organization, which means that it already has established a strategic recruitment process. Besides, given the number of employees that they wish to hire, it means that there is a utilized method that will help out in sourcing the top candidate. As the director in Liberty engineering company, I would start the recruiting process by first analyzing the already established methods of recruitment that best fit my needs.

Identifying the recruitment method, in this case, is essential given the schedule provided. Given the harsh conditions that the employees will be subject to, most applicants may be reluctant to apply for the job. Due to these factors, I would include other methods, such as asking my colleagues to refer to individuals that match the qualifications set. In the selection process, the criteria for identifying the right candidate will differ from what the organization uses. The reason behind this is that the candidate will be selected depending on their ability to withstand cold and high temperatures. Ideally, it means that the candidate should be in a position to work effectively in such extreme conditions within the stipulated time. Other factors, such as ethical leadership and communication skills, are also among the factors considered in the process (Johansson and Herranen 2019). For those who would be taking the leadership position, they should possess excellent leadership skills, which involves building good relationships with team members as well as motivating them.

Lake Mead campground manager suggested that Bob Getz should place an advert in the Cleveland newspaper. People can analyze the reason for his proposal from a different perspective. The first assumption as to why the manager proposed this is because of the working condition. Through the Cleveland newspaper, Getz can be able to outline the job specifications so that those willing can apply. Again through the newspaper, he could be able to reach a large number of qualified and ready candidates. Lake Mead campground manager might have suggested this because it is an effective way of attracting skilled and unskilled employees. Besides, individuals can evaluate that he felt that it could be hard to get a highly qualified individual to work in this project. People recommend the newspaper when the organization wants to recruit locally because the job requires knowledge of the locality. Given the number of employees that Getz wished to attract, the newspaper was the only effective recruitment method that could reach a large number of people in a convenient and budget-friendly way.

In case if the firm is unable to recruit a sufficient number of employees, they should consider proving other benefits. Such benefits include sick day-offs and providing daily transportation when work commenced. The management should also consider changing the survey’s location. Managers can replace areas such as Cape Hatteras and Lake Mead with other recreational areas where the weather is more friendly. Surveys conducted in such regions requires the organization to provide gears for the employees working in such a location. John (2019) discusses that making the job advert more appealing to the job applicant is the only way to attract the needed candidate to fit in that position.
