Political elites are small groups of individuals who use disproportionate influence and power. Political elites are positioned in prominent organizations, institutions, and movements to enhance or shape the political results ( Atkinson, 2017 ). There exist various opinions on the relationship between political elites and economic growth. In this essay, this relationship will be based on the Capital in 21 st Century and Dark Room. Also, reflections on the intersection of the world of politics and the world of financial capital patterns will be discussed.

Consistent with the Capital in 21 st Century and Darkroom and Dark political elites leads to the low economic growth of a country. When there are monopolists with an agent on how much, for whom, and what to produce, corruption exists. As a result, the political elites accumulate much more wealth than the citizens, which is evident in these references ( Klingler, 2020 ). Society’s income growths become low while the return on Capital, including dividends, profits, rents, interest, and other sources of Capital owned by the political elites, increases. Eventually, economic growth is negatively affected.

Global politics and the world of financial Capital are directly connected where political elites, who are the rich people, are exceedingly becoming rich, creating a large gap of wealth inequality. For instance, in the Dark Room film, the Koch brothers contributed greatly to worsening the economic inequality, which is alarming. As a result, it has become harder for other people to compete with them. This shows that the Republic has been overtaken by wealth. Besides, if any of their corporate executives falls out of position, the Koch brothers will return them into line quickly. Therefore, this is a clear indication of how the world of financial Capital and politics, together with other elites, directly controls states and the economy.

Throughout the films, political elites have significantly contributed to inequality and populism among themselves. Eventually, bridging this gap has continually become difficult, and hence rather than opposing them, they get popular due to their political and financial capability. In reference to the Dark Room film, I have learned that not all political movements are focused on ruining economic growth.
