The healthcare system is a vital element to the success of a county's population. In a quest to ensure adequate services, the healthcare system goes through transformations to limit access problems, reduce cost, and limit disparities. In line with that view, in 2010, president Barrack Obama introduced the Affordable care act (ACA) to establish a comprehensive health care coverage. The purpose of the law is to ensure the majority of U.S. citizens who often do not have personal coverage, get access to one by levying penalties (up until 2019) on individuals who fail to insurance cover. Also, for entities, they must provide coverage for workers if they employ more than 200 staff. With the help of American health benefits, citizens can willingly compare the insurance plans for decision making.

Question 1

The ACA will positively impact nurse's learning opportunities. Through the act, there is increased funding towards education and training as they seek to improve access to health practitioners per patient. Still, through hospital grants, more nurses gain access to training through Medicaid and Medicare services. Cleveland et al. (2019) argue that by 2020 it is estimated that there will be a 30% increase in the number of N.P.s countrywide. As more money is availed into learning institutions, the more chances nurse are having in gaining knowledge and skills as they become registered nurses. Since enactment, it is estimated that over 11 million individuals gained access to insurance, presenting a shortage of physicians (Salmond, & Echevarria, 2017, p. 37). Nurses are given a chance to improve on their education through nurse practitioners (N.P.s), where additional years of learning accord them the ability to function independently.

Also, the role of nurses has changed as a driving force towards the reduction of healthcare costs. Nurses sustain cost by closing the gap between related expenditures and insurance coverage. Such is made possible through the modification of competition between health care agencies. With more nurses available to serve, health care agencies do not have as much competitive advantage to overprice their services as a partnership with educational institutions. The chance allows nurses to utilize their skills. Through ACA, the priorities are set straight, allowing nurses to actively help patients within communities and hospitals to reduce medical diagnosis charges. Access to healthcare reduces long-term healthcare costs, and with increased partnerships with nurse administrators and advanced practice under registered nurses (APRNs), evaluation on cost reduction and billing health has been made possible. Cleveland et al. (2019) assert that the availability of care to patients have reduced healthcare costs from 9% in 2010 to 6% in 2019.

Question 2

Quality measures and pay for performance positively impact a patient's recovery time. Health care is vital quality access becomes the determiner o how quick patients are likely not to be readmitted within a short period. Navigation through screenings, wellness checks case management and discipline allows practitioners to pay close attention to the wellness of a patient beyond cost. Ideally, P4P acts as an incentive in shaping behavior that limits potential harm against patients and ultimately improve performance through incentives to physicians. Peluso et al. (2019) argue that in three out of five practitioners, P4P has a positive impact on the quality of services they are willing to offer.

Question 3

Responsibilities of nurses are now not only to provide care but also to play the overwatch role. Nurses are expected to play their vital role in the provision of quality healthcare and ensuring that their hospitals do the same. The ACA outlines that through hospital readmission program (HRRP), hospitals must collect and report patients readmitted within 30days. With nurses mandated to do the same, poor quality services are mitigated since they are related to readmissions within the same period. Quality reporting is key to service delivery, while case management and coordination mean that patient's safety and quality access is ensured. Such continues to impact nurses to drive a more equitable healthcare system where practitioners have the skills and guidelines to actions.

Question 4

ACA has proven vital in reform leadership roles as nurses look to improve services to their organizations. They are part of their communities and have campaigns that address health care issues. For instance, in 2019, the campaign for action organized by nurses in 50 states was a success as they advocated for the need for healthy communities in terms of access and quality. Such platforms allow nurses to stand for more magnificent courses as they look forward to improving other people welfare in their services.

They have also risen into management roles in care coordination that shift focus from individual organizations. They can now coordinate how their patients are faring and trajectory to recovery and quality of services through APRNs, which is vital in improving health quality. In collaboration with physicians, case manager’s psychologists, and other practitioners, they can now interact and manage individual cases as they engage with said professionals in their roles as APRNs. Other than reacting to the needs of patients after ailment, the opportunity to engage with more experienced and learned, practitioners, provide the necessary platform for growth.

Question 5

The trends include specialization in education to cater to the growing changes in demand for quality as population increases. An increase in demand for access to healthcare will see nurses specializing in more advanced fields. Through increased access to funds, more people will be willing to study beyond limitations and acquire college degrees at various levels within the industry. A bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) will become more vital as boards look for equipped nurses.

Technological innovations are also an essential trend in the future. With more demand for e-services and delivery, the changes are deemed to happen. For instance, cooperation between platforms such as Amazon-JP Morgan and Berkshire will bring a new wave to healthcare delivery systems. Innovators are looking for new ways to serve the people and in the process profiteer, which will see more inventions on machines that promote ease of access.

Also, more demand for community-based nursing as people seek services at their comfort. As people find new ways to cut medical costs, there is an increased shift in nurses working for individuals, companies, and earning more than they would in facilities. The change will bring more coordination with the private sector as nurses gain value on how they perform in their roles. In servicing large companies, it also presents new challenges requiring skills and an opportunity to earn an income and resume.

Question 6

I expect more leadership opportunities as cooperation between different fields continues. Such will include Nurses being appreciated to take on different roles as an integral part of meeting the needs of our health care system. Also, the position will see nurses join in on various reform campaigns focused on changing patterns within the industry that are not promoting healthcare. As the demand for quality care thrives, so will leadership opportunities as nurses advance their education.

Still, demographic diversity is a transformation that will shape nursing. More people from marginalized communities and more young persons as elites retire will be a prediction worthy of developing the industry. Indeed, nursing has long been perceived to be female-dominated, and that could change soon.
