Assets and Liabilities 

The total assets of Facebook for the quarter that ended 30 th September, 2019 were $124,4418 billion. This is an increase of 34.58 percent year-over-year as the total assets of the company for 2018 were $97,334 billion. On the other hand, Facebook’s total liabilities were $30,419 billion for the quarter ending 30 th September, 2019, representing a percentage increase of 151.19 percent from 2018 as the company’s total liabilities were $13,207 billion for 2018. 

Equity 

Facebook’s total equity for the quarter ending 30 th September, 2019 was $93,999 billion. This represents an increase of a percentage increase of $11.73 from 2018. However, total shares outstanding remained at $2,854 billion for both 2019 and 2018.

Total Revenue and Net Income 

In the quarter ending 30 th September, 2019, Facebook’s total revenue amounted to $17.65 billion. The majority the company’s revenue was generated through advertising which accounted for $17.38 billion. The company increased its revenue by 29 percent from 2018 as revenue for was $13.73 in 2018. This increase in total revenue might be attributed to the 9 percent increase year-over-year in daily active users which stood at 1.62 billion on average. Facebook announced that it had over seven million active advertisers during the quarter ending 30 th September, 2019. This drove the company’s net income to $6.09 billion. Compared to 2018 net income of $5.14 billion, an increase of 19 percent year-over-year was realized. 

Changes in The Above Financial Health Indicators from A Shareholder’s or Investor’s View 

One of the main areas of a company’s financial health that must be evaluated is level of profitability. Standalone figures for the quarter ending 30 th September, 2019 may not be meaningful. However, when compared to 2018, an investor or shareholder can see a trend and determine whether the Facebook’s financial health is improving. That being said, the changes above are positive from an investor or shareholder’s view.
