I attended a private school from pre-k to 12th grade. The experience was smooth, but bullying was a problem, and that influenced the current feelings about school placements. I feel that students at this age require lots of guidance, and since they are growing up, they should be shown how to control themselves. There are students who feel superior to others and treat them wrong and is affects the victims emotionally and mentally. The result is poor academic performance. The private school setting will guide me in forming programs of teaching students to learn to respect each other and appreciate diversity in a public-school setting.
One positive school experience I had is good teaching. They were always available when I required help with my school work. The teachers were also willing to spend extra time to help me with subjects that I was struggling with. The experience will help in a school setting by making sure that all students feel that I am present and ready to assist. I will also work with fellow teachers to determine the problems students face academically to help them. Families will also be involved in the program to ensure that all required stakeholders support the success of the student.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
Being part of an in-group helped me to feel part of something greater. In the group, we supported each other. We could stand up against any person that was against a member of the group. We assisted each other with academic work and other school projects. The in-group work was interesting as we could hang out after school, watch movies, and have fun together. The experience will be essential in guiding me to find ways in which I can establish better relationships with students and families. I will learn what the group requires, their values and respect it and find the basis on how we can work together to improve the academic and social performance of students.
Different individuals in school had either a positive or negative impact on me. Some classmates used to bully me, and they made me wish that school days never came. I feared to go to school each day, till I met my friends and my desk mate who assisted in making improving my life. I gained my best friend who helped with both school and homework. We could hang out together, watch tv, and do things together. Life school became interesting. My teachers and principal made my life better, making me wish to be a better person. They would encourage me on a daily basis and correct me when wrong. The experience makes me wish to create a better environment for my students so that they can enjoy school.
Gender did not have much effect on my school experience. Both male and female students were provided with equal opportunities with none being considered superior. The competition was fair, and in the case of punishment, no gender was favored. The experience will help me create an environment where my students can feel free to compete against each other fairly. Gender will not be a factor in the classroom, and challenging environments will be provided equally. My sexual orientation allowed me to accept all students despite their differences; I did not segregate the gay students or abuse them as most students did. The experience will help me create awareness of accepting diversity, variation in sexual orientation included. In that way, none of my students will be bullied because of their sexuality. I will create a safe school environment where each student will thrive mentally, emotionally, physically, and academically.
The other experience I gained in school was related to ethnic backgrounds. There were different races at school, and students used to treat each other different. I could see the African American students forming groups, the white, Chinese, and others. It is clear that these people identified with each other as they related. The school system, however, did not have any segregation problems as all students were treated the same. Physical and learning disability was an issue. Any students who had disabilities were treated different by most students. Most of them did not have friends and stayed alone. The situation of disability made the school create a program of encouraging the students to appreciate each other, and all of them being abled differently. The experience will be necessary for creating diversity programs where parents, students, and teachers from different ethnic groups can learn to interact with and appreciate each other.
I participated in after school activities such as sports and voluntary programs such as cleaning. It was a great experience where I would help others or participate in sports for exercise purposes. In the current school, I will encourage the students to take after school activities. They will keep them busy, especially the 12th grade and avoid other social ills such as drug abuse. The experience I gained throughout my school years will be used to guide my future work. I will make sure that my work will be used to helps the students learn to integrate and appreciate each other. I will create an environment where students will grow academically, emotionally, and mentally, and through the support of family.
