Security Challenges in the Private Sector Amid Technology Rise

The article explores some of the most imminent challenges that private sectors are subjected to amid technology rise. The adoption of technology in aiding security has been one of the most significant measures that have been implemented towards beefing up security. However, the shift towards technology has provided several gaps that need to be addressed. These challenges emanate from the negative use of technology to aid security threats. Private security firms have been on the receiving end of the challenges posed by technology advancement. This is because technology has made security firms to be susceptible to cyber-attacks. While technology brings forth advantages in terms of dealing with security threats, it also provides gaps that promote attacks. This is because cyber attackers find the vulnerability in the security aspect embraced by security firms. Private security firms, on the other hand, have experienced problems because much of the responsibilities have been left to the government agencies. Thus, private security firms have limited control over security uncertainty in terms of security threats. This is because they depend on government agencies to provide detailed information about possible security attacks.

From the article, it can be noted that security is an all-round responsibility. This is an implication that security calls for both national and private security firms’ cooperation amid the increased adoption of technology. However, private security firms face a significant problem in terms of less technology. This is because the security war has been shifted to technology, which requires a huge investment. Therefore, the United States private firms experience significant challenges in marching the required technology used by cyber attackers. In return, private security firms have been forced to rely on government agencies to get the required information to deal with security attacks. Thus, there is a need to ensure sufficient investment in technology for private security firms to combat the technology-driven security threat.
