The central theme addressed by the two speakers is commercial sexual. While one speaker discusses the dangers of sex trafficking, particularly on children, the other speaker airs the grievances of sex workers across the world. Linda smith calls on governments and individuals around the globe to protect the rights of children through enacting strict laws on child sex trafficking (Smith, 2014). Toni Mac, on the other hand, calls for a more considerate legal approach to protect the rights of sex workers.

Both of these approaches are biased and based on personal encounters and opinions without considering the other side of the discussion. Mac, for instance, is driven by the need to protect the female sex workers, of which she is one of them, thereby acting with the need for self-preservation. Should the reforms she is pushing for, be adopted, then she will be in an environment where her rights as a sex worker are protected. Smith perceives sex trafficking from the point of view of the child being innocent and the victim by virtue of their young age. While in most cases, children are victims of sex trafficking, some act out of personal decisions, taking full responsibility for their actions.

This diversity presents a disagreement between the two presenters. Smith holds that commercial sex should be illegal so that children are protected from sex trafficking, while Mac believes that with the legalization of prostitution, sex workers will receive less criticism in the community, thereby conducting their trade in peace. The main moral concern presented is human autonomy. The ability of human beings to make informed sexual decisions and related courses of action is questioned by the call for legal interventions to regulate sex trade. Ethical relativism stems from Mac's views on prostitution in which she normalizes sex trade as a means of survival while Smith, based on her morals, perceives sex trade as being morally wrong and an avenue to harm future generations.
