Among the 33 developed nations globally, the U.S. lacks universal healthcare insurance because the healthcare delivery system of America possesses specific components like Children’s Health Insurance Program, Medicaid, Medicare, and the veteran affairs department that offers universal health care services to specific populace of the country. The Children’s Health Insurance Program, Medicaid, Medicare, and the veteran affairs of health care coverage for approximately 37.7% Americans. Moreover, the U.S. has a combination of private and government insurance ( Kinney, 2015 ). Accordingly, 67.2% of the U.S. population has private insurance that caters for their health care, particularly from their managers or employers. Though the U.S. lacks universal health care insurance, the government subsidizes or supports private health care insurance through Obamacare.

The single-payer system will improve health care accessibility by offering medical care Americans entirely. Single-payer systems exhibit stability and can advance healthcare systems based on patients’ well-being as opposed to offering profits to the healthcare providers in the country. The Single-payer system supports the structure of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) that subsidizes insurance cover to enable low-income families and individuals ( Galea, 2017 ). The ACA requires companies to spend approximately 85% of revenue on health care delivery. For instance, 98% of the revenue caters for clinical services. However, effective implementation of the Single-payer system will ensure recovery of the cost and promote reallocation of the funds to delivery of effective healthcare services. Effective implementation of Single-payer system can incentivize innovative or new compensation structure like accountable care organization and bundled payment to avert the accelerating production and promotion of expensive treatment and drugs by health care system of the U.S. Single-payer system or model do not tender service provider payment to the expense and frequency of care as opposed to compensation for service arrangement. Bundled payment offers a fixed compensation amount for specific types of health care delivered within a given time.

Finally, I suggest that effective implementation of the Single-payer system through bundled payment would promote health care efficiency because the compensation structure inspires completion based on price and quality. The innovative payment model (Single-payer system) will greatly advance the health care systems of the U.S. by 2025 because the model establishes an opportunity for the adoption of various methods that can improve the health of the Americans.
