The topic of social influence on gender stereotype is one important area of research because gender stereotypes still exist in various parts of the world. For example, employers still give jobs based on gender; they set salaries based on sex, the film industry present gender stereotypes in terms of body shapes, value and all other aspects (Heilman, 2001). Thus, the society and its social element have paved way for gender stereotypes across various arenas. It is also clear that value neutrality is also an issue that come as a result of genre stereotypes at home, in marriages, at work, and in other areas.
Gender stereotypes refer to awarding duties and responsibilities based on the sex of a person. It is also important to note that social factors such as beliefs, tradition, and cultural activities have taken centre stage in promoting gender issue faced in employment, at home, in marriages, and in other dimensions of life (Eagly & Steffen, 1984). Therefore, social influence on gender stereotypes is a topic that will help in exploring the social factors that have promoted the gender discrimination and propose how people can deal with them.

The types of people to visit for this research are the sociological experts on the topic of gender stereotypes. It is also important to visit social centres that deal with gender issue in the community. These two samples will make it possible to collect first hand information on the study of how the society has use various social instruments to promote gender stereotypes in the community and the country as a whole. Various sociologists make part in studying effects of gender on various topics and gender stereotypes have form the base of their study hence they are better place to provide the necessary information for the study.
The sample will be accessed by asking for permission to involve them in the study. They will also be accessed through visiting them in the institutions and explaining the aim of the study to them to make it possible for them to agree to take part. Some of the complication that would arise included time factor since most of the community are individual are working on other issue and might have the time to participate in the study.
The research methodology for the study includes secondary and interviews. Interviews will be helpful in collecting first hand information that pertains to research and gender stereotype cases that have been presented before the community as well as those that the sociologists have encountered. It will also make it possible or the researcher to collect up to date information and even record the personal beliefs of the participants. Moreover, secondary data will make it possible for the researcher to get more recorded data on the issue.
The variable of the study include the dependent and independent variable. The independent variable in this case are the social elements such as discriminating against women, upholding men’s rights and reducing the rights of women in various capacities hence leading to gender stereotypes. The dependent variables in the study are gender stereotypes that occur in various parts of the society. Spurious variables are those variables that occur when two or more variable are not related to each others. These variables will not be of any concern during the study because it is clear through studies that social factors influence gender stereotypes.
The need to study social effects on gender stereo types is valid and f great importance this is because even though people live in a modern world where there are some levels of equality between men and women, it is clear that gender stereotypes still exist in the modern generation. For example, the entertainment industry has shown consistently that women are weak and need men’s help all the time, the number of women taking part in political activities are still wanting, most organizations prefer their top management and other leadership positions to be occupied by men and not women. Moreover, most of firm owners still believe that men are better skilled than women even though some women have even higher educational achievements than the men who lead them.
The social justice theory is one phenomenon that will help in the study because it looks directly into factors affecting people in the society they live. Social justice theory will make it possible for the researcher to explore social aspect and their effect on gender stereotypes from a theoretical point of view. The theory will also make it possible for the researcher to view how professionals in the society view gender stereotypes as well as help in exploring how they have dealt with the issue.
Some of the ethical issue that might arise would include the need to present the information with the name of the participants. Moreover, some researchers may feel that their research studies are used to further the research in an area of study that is of importance to them hence might develop a sense of competition.
Some of the things that I will learn from the research are how the society perceives, promote and engage in gender stereotype issues. I will also learn some of the methods that have been use to deal with this issue as well as evaluate the people concerned and their success levels. O the same note, I will know those who refute the existence of gender issue in the community and explore their reasons for holding such as opinion.
