It further purports that the wealthy individuals within a society continuously hold on to their wealth as a means of power used to oppress other lesser people within the community. Dominance is, therefore, seen as a way of maintaining order contrary to conformity.

Pornography is often glamorized, glossed over, ignored or rehabilitated by the media ( SPCorganization, 2013, 3.33). It encourages dehumanization of women who end up being viewed as sexual objects of pleasure ( SPCorganization, 2013, 27.1).

The Stonewall uprising occurred when police officers raided a gay bar in 1969 seeking to arrest those partaking in the activities there leading to an uprising on gay rights. It had a significant impact since it is the reason why the contemporary LGBTQ community was formed. Also, unlike the 1960s when homosexuality and lesbianism was viewed as a defect, the attention pertaining to this matter escalated ( Aleizar, 2017, 3.36). It also resulted in the creation of a national monument pertaining to LGBT rights in the United States. The community now got to perceive the gay people as members of the society who deserved to be treated fairly.

Both Representative Democracy and Liberalism are similar based on the idea that they view individuals as capitalists who are in control of private property with the state regulating markets.
