Reflecting Upon the Issues Identified in Ashe County. 

After reading the article, various issues can be identified. These issues are related to healthcare cost and access. Ashe community has 19% of the individuals who are 65 years and above and 18% of people living in poverty. As such, these issues have resulted in problems in healthcare access for Ashe population that has numerous low-income groups. The local health providers are also faced with financial difficulties (Strasser, 2003). The country also has a shortage of healthcare providers, and the implication of this is fatigue that may result to mistakes and medical errors. This will, in turn, affect patient quality leading to overcrowding in the emergency room, medication errors and high mortality rates. 

How Socioeconomic Factors Affect the Ability to Deliver Healthcare 

Various socioeconomic factors are presented in the case study, and this can affect the ability to deliver in the healthcare. Income is an example of a socioeconomic factor presented in the case study that affects the ability to deliver in the healthcare. Income means to pay for numerous services like health insurance coverage, confidence in patient’s ability to communicate with health professionals, confidence in receiving quality care, and confidence to use of services without compromising privacy (Strasser, 2003). Low income translates to the delivery of diluted services meaning that quality will be comprised.

How Healthcare Organizations Can Provide Care to Rural Communities 

As far as healthcare is concerned, numerous rural areas face problems of access to healthcare services. Healthcare organizations can provide care to rural communities by supplying them with an adequate workforce, reducing health care costs, and also ensuring they have insurance coverage. When this is done, it ensures that individuals from various income groups can access healthcare as well as delivery of quality care (Strasser, 2003). Financial challenges should be the heart of every healthcare organization since many problems emanate from it. 

Solutions Implemented in the Past 

Solutions have been implemented in the past to deal with various issues affecting healthcare sectors, especially in the rural areas. For instance, the government has worked effortlessly to ensure that direct health care providers have an adequate workforce. Besides that, numerous insurance covers have been introduced, and many patients are now able to access quality care.
