A drop in meteoric aspects has also accounted for solar energy being adopted. The other argument to support solar energy being the best choice to wipe out the use of fossil fuel is its economic effectiveness ( Akorede, Hizam, & Pouresmaeil, 2010 ). Fossil fuels result in health and environmental damages. Fossil fuels have adverse environmental impacts, relating to the process of extraction to its use as a source of energy. Fossil fuels cause land, air, and water pollution, trigger climate changes, and increase radioactivity. On the other end, solar energy is environmentally friendly and has no associated negative effects on the environment.
Nonetheless, as much as there are a number of arguments to support the use of solar energy, it also has demerits. Solar energy is not the best choice to reduce the application and use of fossils fuels as it has low capacities to generate energy ( Mekhilef, Saidur, & Safari, 2011 ).
