One of the most popular spaces off campus is a theatre down the street. The dynamics of the art performances in this particular theatre is one of the central factors that makes it attractive to different individuals. In most cases, especially on weekends, the people choose to attend different performances as a form of leisure that makes them relax at the end of a very busy week. Different dynamics describe this space. With regards to the above, issues such as the description of hi-fi and lo-fi soundscapes, how the individuals directly or indirectly affected with the noise from this source deal with it as well as the levels of the noise, whether they are acceptable or not according to the US noise regulation agencies.

Sakakeeny's article asserts that hi-fi soundscape is a place that is generally serene as well collectively agreeable in terms of the disturbance that the noise creates. On the other hand, the lo-fi soundscape is considered of low degree in comparison to hi-fi sound. With regards to the analysis of environmental pollution resulting from the sound intensity of New Orleans residential places, this population describes the lo-fi soundscape to be as a result of the generative effects that are caused by overpopulation in the residential spaces of the city. The above description can be directly or indirectly be related to the sound effects by the theatre down the street. Regardless of the efforts to minimize generative sound pollution due to a combined effect of the source of noise due to the performance itself as well as that generated by the audience as well as the general impact that the climate has on sound propagation, lo-fi and hi-fi soundscapes mostly result.

There are different competing notions among the affected population, especially that which lives or work near the theatre on the levels of agreeable noise. A central point of discussion regards whether the levels of sound should be high or low in the evening when residents who live near the place need time to relax or during the day when most offices around the place are operational and need utmost serenity. While most individuals in this population agree that the noise should be at manageable levels throughout, sometimes it is possible for the theatre to ensure minimum disturbance in accordance to the varied view of the levels of noise that cause pollution.

Although the theatre tries to regulate the noise levels that result from its activities, there are different occasions that result in uncontainable levels. The residents hence have had to come up with ways to regulate the noise in their environments. Most of the offices around the place have ensured that the spaces of operation are soundproof. Also, the homesteads around, as observed use curtains that are soundproof to some extent. In addition to the above, individuals that are seen hanging around in public parks around this area use headphones or earphones at times to ensure they concentrate on what they want other than being distracted by the noise from the theatre.

In conclusion, the noise from the theatre, as heard on different occasions can either be lo-fi or hi-fi. Regardless of the level of disturbance, it creates, in most cases, it interferes with the optimum functioning of the individuals working in the offices nearby as well as affects the levels of comfort for residents that live around the area. It is highly recommended that the theatre puts in place professional noise management techniques to ensure it causes minimum disturbance .
