The ability to stay relevant in the fast changing technological world is critical even in the field of healthcare and nursing. Being able to communicate effectively with young and older people through social media sites and websites is one of the tools that healthcare practitioners are using to stay relevant. In a bid to establish how to stay relevant using a website and social media, a meeting between a research team and college students was set up. The target audience was young people between the ages of 19 and 23 in college. The simulation’s objectives were; to establish the healthcare needs of the target patient population. The second objective was to establish how the target patient population uses websites and social media sites to access healthcare services (Greene, 2013). The third objective was to enquire about what the target patient population feels should be incorporated into healthcare centers’ social media pages and website to improve their healthcare experience.
Three research questions were formulated for the simulation. What health needs make you access healthcare websites and social media pages? Do you contact the site's administrators directly or do you seek information on their physical and phone addresses for help? What challenges do you face when seeking medical information through these sites (Reis, 2017)? The research questions revealed that the young people value privacy most when seeking help on the sites regarding sensitive issues especially regarding sexual health (Greene, 2013). The sites could be better improved by ensuring that the posts on their sites are only visible to the page administrators and hid from the general public. The meeting also revealed that the young population feels more comfortable seeking help virtually than face to face and they visit the sites with the hope of getting professional help without being physically there due to the sensitivity of some issues (Reis, 2017). The health care center should come up with a hotline and post the numbers on their sites to facilitate the accessibility of healthcare information to the young generation.

In sum, the relevance simulation revealed that the highest number of respondents use the internet to get healthcare information. The health care center should ensure privacy is enhanced and a hotline number put in place to address the needs of the young patient population. The objectives were to learn how the young patient population uses the internet for healthcare, their experiences and how to improve them.
