Questions are paramount in any progressive learning setting as they enable one to identify existing gaps in knowledge and determine ideal understanding regarding a particular concept. Questions are essential in the MSN program since it is extensive and impacts human health. Therefore, I have detailed my concerns as I begin this program and how various teams, individuals, and departments will help me address them.

The first question would be the nursing profession’s autonomy. As I understand, competent nurses are supposed to apply knowledge, insights, concepts, and attitudes acquired through their training and experience while practicing. This is what leads to high-quality care services. As such, government and other relevant authorities enact laws and policies meant to govern nursing practice (Paulsen, 2018). My network member, Kristine Bruno, would be instrumental in offering insights regarding how external organization such as Medicare, Medicaid, together with the government can affect nursing professionals. For instance, she will help me understanding specific areas, and to what extend nursing practice is externally controlled as held by Salmond and Echevarria (2017).

Secondly, I am concerned about some of the stereotypes faced by nurses during their practice. Notably, the stereotypes have an impact on the image and overall care delivery (Tierney et al., 2018). In this case, Dr. Pynn, who is also my network member, will shed some light on the stereotypes she has experienced over the twenty years she has been in practice. Thirdly, I also need to understand how in-service learning can be enhanced in nursing. From my viewpoint, this helps improve the quality of care services. My network member, Nancy Franks, who is based at Maricopa Integrated Health Systems, would offer me insights on strategies that can be applied by nurses to learn as they practice. Then also, I need to know how medical practitioners in charge of mental healthcare centers handle violent and extreme mental cases, which significantly threatens their safety. Dr. Esad Boskillo would offer insights on some of the drugs on violent mental incidents.

In conclusion, the question and the concern I have about the nurses would be vital in expanding my scope of knowledge regarding the profession. My network members would be instrumental in helping me gain an understanding before I start my MSN program. The questions they will help me address include the nursing profession’s autonomy, the stereotypes faced by nurses during their practice, how in-service learning can be enhanced in nursing, and how medical practitioners in charge of mental healthcare centers handle violent and extreme mental cases.
