Customer loyalty is the ability of an organization to attract and maintain consumer interest in their products. Strategies geared towards increasing customer loyalty focus on enabling a business organization increase its market share and gain competitive advantage in an industry. Consumer loyalty is important for business and with the increased competitive nature within industries it is important for organizations to maintain consumer loyalty. In order to benefit from customer retention, business organizations must implement effective strategies that are committed towards customer retention. Some of the approaches of increasing customer loyalty include implementing effective communication channels, improve customer service and maintain positive customer relations. 

Organizations can improve its engagement with its customers through the implementation of proper communication and marketing channels. Customer engagement is important as it helps a business in identifying the right demographics for its products and services. Therefore, business can utilize information from the proper demographics to create products or services that meet the consumer needs and wants. Through effective communication, businesses value consumer needs and are able to improve customer retention.

Improved customer service such as aftersales services, are conveniences that a business can offer its consumer to enhance the customer relations. Customer services make consumers feel valued and appreciated, which makes them want to remain loyal to a specific brand. Positive customer relations can be developed through transparency and addressing customer feedback. It is important for a business enterprise to be transparent in its dealings and ensure that it responds to the various concerns that consumers raise concerning their products and services. Customers are likely to disengage from a company if they notice that a company is failing to address their concerns or complaints about a product or service.
