Part 1
1. Provide directional hypothesis
Physicians who receive structured treatment are likely to be effective in treating the sexually abused children
2. Specifically, who is your population of interest?
Physician in Ontario who have gone through structured sexual abuse treatment process
3. How would you obtain a sampling frame?
In an attempt of obtaining the sampling frame, I will focus on systematic sampling method where I will pick the first trained physician depending on chance
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
4. Systematic sampling population may result in biasness making it difficult to generalize the information obtained from the research findings. In an attempt of avoiding biasness, I will focus on increasing the size of population and include the possible error in generalizing the results.
5. What type of sampling method would you use? Why?
I would use snowball sampling because the population will be hard and difficulty to identify
6. How far would you be able to generalize using the sampling method chosen?
Based on the information and results obtained from the research, I will be in a position to generalize the effectiveness of structured treatment on sexually abused children across Canada
Part 2
1. Provide a different directional hypothesis
The more money organizations spend on training clinicians on mechanisms for administering structured treatment for sexually abused children; the more likely the victims will seek structured treatment
2. Specifically, who is your population of interest?
In this case, the target population of interest is the clinicians from clinics of North America who attended a structured treatment approach for sexually abused children.
3. What are some of the disadvantages to not having a sampling frame? Discuss how you may overcome these drawbacks?
In the absence of a sampling frame, there is an increase in the cost incurred in conducting the sampling process. Lack of sampling frame may also lead to sampling mistakes meaning that the sampling frame will contribute to biases in the research. In an attempt to reduce these disadvantages, I will focus on selecting some regions and hospitals from where I will be able to collect a sample of the population. In reducing biasness, I will focus on reducing the size of population designed from which to collect data.
4. What type of sampling method would you use? Why?
In creating the sample, a snowball approach will be appropriate. Snowball sampling technique takes place in two steps whereby in the first step there is a focus on identifying one or two relevant participants thus creating an opportunity for the participants to identify other people in the society. This will create an opportunity for identifying relevant participants in the study.
5. How far would you be able to generalize using the sampling method chosen?
I cannot generalize the findings obtained from the research on the whole population
6. What is one ethical concern of conducting research on the topic you have chosen? How would you minimize this ethical dilemma?
The ethical concern for conducting research on the effects of structured treatment on sexually abused children is based on the need for clinicians to maintain confidentiality and privacy of patient’s information. In an attempt to handle this dilemma, the research will be conducted on questionnaires and the results will not indicate the names of the participants.
