Twin Oak Elementary school has achieved a lot of success and has had positive progress in recent years. I got to understand this school better when I joined the staffs as a volunteer teaching math and English. I wanted to give back to the community, and I saw it necessary and vital to get involved and teach the kindergarten kids. Within the short period I spent within this compound, I was not only thrilled by the environment, but I was also excited by the mission, curriculum and the relationship between the kids and teacher in this institution.
The environment itself was suitable for the children. The teachers believed that the children had the capability to define their destiny in school. The teachers' rolewas to guide and avail the resources for the kids. This was reflected by the school compound and how it was well-endowed by the funds that aided learning. It was a serene environment with cool trees that were suitable for the children. The spacious playground was also an added advantage for the kids. There were a lot of students. I later learned from their webpage that they housed 400 students. The students were spread from the kindergarten to fifth grade. The trees had a history in this school, and indeed, it was well endowed with natural trees.

This was a teacher-learner environment where the relationship between the students and the teachers was close. This curriculum was reflected from the school's mission that was to provide comprehensive learning to young children. The staffs cared for the students. They aimed at nurturing self-worth as well as academic excellence among the children. Both the staffs and children shared the same mission within this institution. Within the few weeks I spent in this institution, I learned the greatness of this institution, and core values that made them excel and progress positively.
