Stakeholders play a crucial role in the operations and the success of an organization. Stakeholders in the healthcare sector include corporations, individuals, and any other entities who express their interest for investment in this sector and form a vital role in making clinical decisions in the various organizations they vest their interest. This essay will separately highlight the important roles played by internal and external stakeholders in successful project implementation in healthcare and how one can go about the idea of securing the support from these stakeholders.
Internal stakeholder of a healthcare setting comprises of people found within respective healthcare outlets like administrators, healthcare professional, and other team players who perform both clinical and non-clinical assignments. Out of this cadre of employees, nurses make a large portion of the total number (Horev & Babad, 2005). Nurses work as physicians, pharmacists, physiotherapists and as subordinates to doctors. Another group o internal stakeholders are the management team which foresee the activities in the respective healthcare institutions as well as providing the scope of how the implementation is to be made. It turns out that management, together with the other medical employees work unanimously to implement change.

External stakeholders comprise of suppliers, patients, healthcare insurance providers, the government, and what have you. These group of individuals and institution are also crucial in the implementation of a healthcare project. The government, for example, makes policies that help the public get access to affordable healthcare, funding healthcare organizations to build infrastructure essential for healthcare organizations, and hiring the workforce needed in these organizations (Horev & Babad, 2005).
In a bid to acquire stakeholders’ support, I can first major on creating awareness to them about the impending project. This approach would involve participating in conferences, organizing seminars, printing booklets that entail the plan on how to implement the project. Besides, I would use the media and community coalitions to advocate for their support.
Conclusively, stakeholders are the vision holders of any organization, and they held a central role in determining how an organization, in our case healthcare, conducts its affairs with the intent of succeeding. The evidence highlighted above indicates that their support is vital for the implementation and success of a healthcare project. The effective way to earn their support is by informing them through various means like conferences and media.
