a. Briefly describe the target population(s) of the SOC

Malnutrition in adolescence System of Care targets teenagers between the ages of 10 to 19-year-old in different parts of the globe. These populations form the largest generation of people in world history has there are estimated to be 1.8 billion ( Amin, Vyas & Vyas 2018). However, Amin, Vyas and Vyas (2018 ) report that 90% of adolescents reside in low and middle-level income countries which expose them to malnutrition problems. They add that these complications can have lifetime consequences on adolescents’ health as they undergo rapid biological and socio-emotional changes. According to Hecht (2015), malnutrition in adolescence has devastating impacts on the population health, especially to girl teenagers well-being. Hecht (2015) adds that the estimated number of girls in adolescence dying each year from undernutrition around the world is at 3.5 million. This indicates that more than one-third of these deaths are caused by malnutrition worldwide, despite the frontline battle for better health and well-being of adolescents in most global health forums ( Amin, Vyas & Vyas 2018).

The core values and guiding principles of malnutrition in adolescence SOC are a set of rules that help to address the multiple needs of adolescents who are facing malnourishment disorders. Malnutrition in adolescence SOC has eight values and principle, including family-driven, quality assurance, culturally and linguistically proficient, government accountability, interagency collaboration, best exercise in service delivery, youth-guided and group to community-based services ( Andersen et al., 2018) . For example, family-driven means that the family of adolescents have a vital role in decision making during the care of their teenagers ( Andersen et al., 2018) . This ethic intends to empower youths through education and even giving them tasks and the opportunity to decide their own lives. Similarly, quality assurance in the context of malnutrition in adolescence has a different meaning. It means that measure of a meaningful outcome and play of a significant role in improving the quality of care to adolescents and their families at both levels of SOC ( Andersen et al., 2018) . Generally, the intended purpose of these eight values and principles is to improve and increase access to health services to adolescents without proper nutrition care worldwide. 

c. Identify and briefly describe the general mission of the SOC at the national, state, and local levels

The general mission of malnutrition in adolescence SOC at national, state and local levels is to improve the adolescents’ diet quality, their lifestyle, and ability. It also focuses on contributing to better nutritional status and lifetime health of teenagers. 

i. For the local level, identify and briefly describe two NYC- or Long Island-based agencies under this SOC

The local level based malnutrition in adolescence System of Care agencies includes the New York Eat and the City Harvest. At New York Eat, the local public systems and agencies, youth representatives, families and healthcare service providers work together to ensure that malnutrition adolescents are getting meaningful care services to improve their health. On the other hand, at City Harvest, both families and caregivers are working together to provide quality services to these teenagers based on the eight values and principles of System of Care (( Andersen et al., 2018) . Furthermore, these agencies make those local adolescents have access to balance diet and quality nutrition thus promoting resiliency and recovery to the affected teenagers.
