At the beginning of this class, I had a bleak picture of the adverse effects of climate change on our surroundings, but now I have a greater understanding. Climate change also referred to as global warming is caused by a number of factors including specific human activities that cause harmful emissions commonly referred to as greenhouse gas emissions. Greenhouse gases are often emitted from industrial processes. They are usually produced in large amounts affecting the ozone layer.

Climate patterns play a significant role in shaping the existing natural ecosystems, cultures as well as human economies. With the disruption of the ozone layer, the carbon dioxide, as well as other trapping gases, are increasingly piling up in the atmosphere hence rising the sea-levels to extreme levels, melting the snow, causing severe droughts, rainfall as well as floods among others. Climate change, therefore, continue to affect how people, animals as well as plants interact. Moreover, it continues to pose significant risks to both human, animal and plant health. The quality of our lives is profoundly comprised. Our states and communities need to, therefore, minimize human greenhouse emissions to help reduce the adverse effects of global warming. Effective policies should be implemented to further address the production of greenhouse gas emissions, which is major cause of climate change.
