Albedo is the measurement is the measurement of solar energy that is reflected off the earth and lands back in space. Energy from sunlight is cast back into the atmosphere. These rays can have serious effects on the climate. Albedo determines the level of heat on the earth. Albedo is the comparison between the reflected radiations from the surface to the limit of radiation that hits. A surface with that absorbs less heat has a higher albedo Light from the sun moves up once it heats the surface. Reflecting bodies in the surface like water bodies achieve this; water absorbs light more and reflects less light to the surface. If a surface has more water then there is less solar emission.

Temperatures might differ between urban and rural areas and this can be the reason why global temperatures have increased in recent times. More light and more heat will reflect higher albedos and urban areas will l experience lower albedos than in rural areas. Urban areas will seem to get warmer than rural areas due to the concentrated amount of asphalt and tar in rooftops that will absorb sunlight and absorb heat making the area warmer. Urban areas have darker surfaces all over making those areas warm due to the heat collecting properties. Denser traffic with internal combustion engines and more buildings with air conditioning and running furnaces that emit heat increasing the temperature making them warm. Rural areas are less warm than urban areas in the same temperature because they reflect more heat to the surface, water and plantation will help the sun heat be reflected back to the surface. Other than the albedo effect, other factors like the existence of water sources, plantations and existence of big construction site will affect the temperature differences between urban areas and rural areas.
