Introduction
Approximately 52 million people between 18 to 25 years encounter drug prescription through non-legal means. With time it becomes a habit without the victims even realizing it. Some individuals don’t detect the transformation process from recreational abuse to serious addiction; hence it can be intense. Therefore, medical detox combined with more therapy and encouraged group work may be the best method to gain relief for a victim. Hence prescription medication is usually offered to cure illnesses and the anxiety that come along. Victims of medical states such as cancer or individuals with mental health challenges such as depression and anxiety may have a better chance of recovery through prescription medications or similarly experience painful and uncomfortable conditions. The most common situations are that multiple people use prescription medications for reasons that are less related to illnesses. A large number of people globally take prescription medications for recreational purposes ( Prescription Drug Abuse, 2020 ). Sources from NIDA (National Institute on Drug Abuse) reveal close to 52 million Americans above age 12 have abused prescription medication hence prompting the need to carry out more research of the claims and the risks involved. Perhaps, some people may think that such practices have no effects, but in the real sense, some may even require assistance from specialists to recuperate.
Purpose of the study
Reasons behind the research and activities to be held will involve understanding prescription drug categories such as the main drugs of concern related to addiction, knowing classes of prescription drugs, learning about certain Opiates. Familiarizing with certain prescription stimulants, identifying specific drugs of interest, understanding the process of abusing the prescriptions to dependence, and finally learning to appreciate and understand how treatment centers assist in overcoming the challenge. To be able to obtain the mentioned objectives, there will need to visit various hospitals to interview both medical practitioners and victims of prescription medication addiction. Also, research from secondary sources of data such as books in libraries and data from hospital records will be relevant.

Hypothesis
There were various speculations associated with the study hence the formulation of multiple hypotheses. For instance, most people abusing prescribed medication do not understand the long term effect of the practice. After recommending prescriptions, most medical practitioners do make follow-ups to know the progress of their patients, and some patients do not understand how some drugs work and their various risks. Finally, some people are not aware of how addiction comes about, including recovery measures.
Definition of terms
When people switch to drug addiction, it usually occurs rapidly without its victims, even realizing it. Hence, the process makes one feel as if they are both mentally and physically weak in resisting the developed behavior. Drug addiction sets in when the victim is unable to be physically active in the absence of the drug fully. The chemical lust for drugs prompts the user to continue abusing them despite feeling the need to refrain from the behavior. Besides, the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence have identified various terms to refer to different situations related to drug dependence. First, withdrawal refers to a state where the victims feel physically or mentally unstable whenever they try to stop using the drug. Next, tolerance, the victims must continue to take more of the drugs to get the initial effects when the doses were smaller. Third, intense focus whereby the victim prioritizes the drug more than their relatives, professions, hobbies, and pets. Finally, loss of control whereby a victim cannot determine the frequency and quantity in use. Understanding such terms is essential in the process of trying to understand the process of prescription addiction.
Limitations and Delimitations
Some of the limitations involved in the study are that fewer individuals in the US are aware of or take for granted the support offered in rehabilitation centers hence making it was difficult to carry out the research efficiently. Another limitation during the study was that victims of pain killer addiction reported relapse cases a week after stopping the habit hence raising concerns of the influence of the whole process. Besides, various delimitations were observed, such as adequate support from some health organizations that realized the importance of the research. Another one is that people reacted positively to the research results and agreed to take part in the rehab program. It is because they know the effects of abusing prescription medication and ways of handling it to attain recovery.
Assumptions
Before the project, there was an assumption that some prescribed drugs usually have large amounts of chemicals that have addictive features. Another assumption is that the multiple drugs issued were distinct hence not possible to contain addictive chemicals. Besides, there were speculations that the drugs had a sweet taste, thus prompting victims to consume them irrationally. Finally, the research anticipated that the public had much knowledge of chemical compositions of various drugs hence manipulating them to achieve a hallucinating effect through mischievous methods.
Rationale
After discussing the various issues related to the multiple outcomes of depending on prescribed medications, it is evident that there was a need to conduct this research. Besides, prescription drug addiction should not be a perpetual problem. With proper measures put in place, such as appropriate help and frequent checkups, individuals with persistent dependency challenges can be self-disciplined to live better and happy.
