The Baldrige Core Values are reflective of my experience in this course which I appreciated and enjoyed. My experience learning about business policy was eye-opening as it helped me understand the value of strategic decision-making and policy in the business. Business policies define the scope by which decisions and operations are executed in a business. Learning about business policy and reflecting on the Baldrige Core Values helped me also appreciate the role and benefits of strategic management in the success of businesses. The success of any business is relative to the values enforced through policy and strategic management. The Baldrige Core Values define the mindset and qualities that business leaders should possess to achieve success through effective policy implementation.

As a potential business leader, reflecting on the Baldrige Core Values is essential to understand how to be a successful manager. Business leaders not only play a significant role in formulating policy but also leading through example. The business policy ensures that leaders and their subordinates work in harmony and align their efforts with the goals of the business. Visionary leadership, one of the values in the Baldrige Core Values, entails being progressive and adaptive. Visionary leadership also entails setting clear goals for the business that are realistic and achievable. My main goal as I undertook this course was to ensure I understood every aspect of business policy. To achieve this goal, I set targets to include extensive reading and research on every new topic I encountered during the course. One of the targets I set for myself was to learn more about how each new aspect of business policy I learned could be applied in a real-world situation.

Effective communication is a significant aspect of visionary leadership. Visionary leaders should maintain regular communication with their subordinates about policy changes to maintain or improve operational performance in the business. Effective communication is a core management function that enables leaders to gain and comprehend new ideas. Effective communication also allows business leaders to access ideas beneficial to the business goals ( Radovic Markovic, 2018 ). Throughout this course, I ensured that I maintained regular communication with my peers and instructor regarding assignments and deadlines. Regular communication ensured that my vision to understand aspects of business policy effectively was achieved. My peers were exceptionally helpful through various discussions we held regarding the course and boosted my understanding of the various aspects of business policy. Visionary leadership skills were also useful in the organization of my learning schedule, which I adhered to strictly.

Another Baldrige Core Value is customer-centered excellence which refers to maintaining customer engagement through trust. Achieving customer trust involves ensuring customer satisfaction through effective customer engagement. Customer relations practices are essential in business, and I believe that I possess customer-centered excellence values acquired from my experience in this course. Another Baldrige Core Value is organizational and personal learning which I have learned by scheduling and research during the course duration. As a future leader in business, I understand the value of organizational learning to implement the necessary organizational changes to attain success. Influential leaders should have the capacity to learn from their subordinates and environment to better understand the business needs to be implemented through policy change.

Group work and activities related to the course have helped me value and appreciate the relevance of each stakeholder in a group. Similarly, business leaders should appreciate the efforts of each member of the workforce and understand their strengths to influence positive change effectively. Learning to value others has enabled me to acquire an optimistic approach towards others that I feel is necessary for my future leadership ambitions in business. As a leader, valuing each member of the workforce also builds trust, which boosts performance. Communication is essential in building trust with the workforce such that effective leaders are promptly informed about issues and grievances involving the workforce.

Agility is another Baldrige Core Value that is critical in the process of business policy development and enforcement. Agility involves being responsive to business changes and applying necessary efforts to improve the performance and productivity of the business. I realized agility is a core value in the real world which is always changing. Factors that require agility, such as technology change fast, and businesses have to maintain adaptive policies that are up to date with current trends. Effective leaders who are agile and adaptable can deal with uncertainty such that they can improvise appropriately to maintain performance (Howlett et al., 2018). This course provided an opportunity to acknowledge the benefit of agility in business and leadership. Business policies reflect the practices implemented by leaders to achieve success and profitability. Agile leaders can develop an adaptive workforce by identifying and managing redundancies through effective management.

Another essential core value that helped me throughout the course is the focus on the future, which I am optimistic will present challenges that demand effective solutions. This course improved my problem-solving skills allowing me to understand that businesses face various challenges and factors such as policies help leaders make appropriate decisions to provide proper solutions. My focus on the future as a business leader motivated me greatly to learn all about this course. In addition, the Baldrige Core Value of managing for innovation also shares a similar sentiment about developing flexible business policies that focus on the future.

Business leaders should develop effective policies that consider factors such as the society and environment. Corporate social responsibility goes beyond the profitability of the business but involves the shared value between the business and society (Agudelo, 2019). By focusing on these aspects, value is created, contributing to overall business performance and sustainability. Business policies have a significant impact on society and the environment. Therefore, business policies should be tailored to safe and sustainable practices. It offered a lot of insight into the potential impact of businesses on society and the need to develop business policies that observe sustainability. The need to safeguard the community's interest and protect the environment helped me appreciate how significant business policies are internally and externally.

This course has been beneficial in offering essential knowledge on business policies and the subsequent aspects involved. As I advance my career, I will apply the knowledge I have learned together with the Baldrige Core Values to improve my business experience. Because of the critical nature of business policy to impact a business through its operations and workforce, it must be carefully formulated. This course has helped me understand that every stakeholder in a business relies on the policy to effectively perform their roles within the interests of the business.

The Baldrige Core Values are instrumental as I progress through my career as they act as guiding principles to achieve effective business leadership. In conclusion, this course has enabled me to understand business strategy practices and principles that are factored in the establishment of effective policies. I now have the necessary knowledge to consider and advance a career in business leadership. In addition, my experience throughout this course has exposed me to the critical aspects in business that determine success, such as teamwork, vision, and agility. Strategic management is, therefore, a crucial factor in the formulation and implementation of business policies. The Baldrige Core Values influence practices that aid effective strategic management in business.
