Research, evidence-based practice, and nursing processes are used by healthcare providers to address medical issues. Research process uses a methodology, which can be quantitative or qualitative in developing new health information. Evidence-based practice involves seeking and applying the best evidence to address clinical problems, which is attained from the study process in making healthcare decisions (Grove, 2019). The nursing process uses systematic methods in improving the outcome of patients through evidence collected in the research. Therefore, the three methods are involved in the delivery of high-quality medical services and patient satisfaction.

Therefore, continuous research is needed, which has to be specific to a unique health issue, and the hypothesis is tested. Different researchers conduct studies of a particular health problem. The results are then documented for future reference. The need to improve patient outcome has resulted in developing evidence-based practice. During the nursing process, the providers have to evaluate the different studies and compare the results. It will help retrieve evidence which has been tested and proven as the best solution to a specific health problem.

Research, evidence-based practice and nursing processes differ in the way they are carried out. There are specific steps to researching starting with identification of the problem, reviewing literature, defining population, study design, data collection, hypothesis testing, and data analysis. Evidence-based practice follows different steps as it starts with inquiry and formulating a solution, research is then done an appraisal of validity, relevance, applicability and time are established, and then the evidence is integrated with clinical expertise (Mangold & Arring, 2019). Nursing process, on the other hand, starts with assessing the patient, diagnosis, planning treatment, implementation, and evaluation of the success of the treatment approach. Despite the steps taken, all the tree processes are meant to improve the outcome of healthcare services.
