Why Communicaton is Essential in an Organization

Communication is the process through which information and ideas are passed from one person to the other. The process is essential in an organization for the following reasons. First, communication is regarded as a foundation of all the facets of a business. It helps in ensuring that employees understand their duties and responsibilities. It also acts as a base for building an excellent attitude by ensuring that workers are well-informed about all organizational activities. In management, it promotes controlling processes by enabling the managers to understand their employees. Through communication, workers learn all the policies governing the company.

Workshop and Offsite Meetings

A workshop is an intensive educational program that is designed to introduce or teach the participants techniques and skills that can be beneficial to their daily activities. Among the benefits associated with this form of communication include making the users motivated, the flexibility of the sessions. Nevertheless, sometimes, it is difficult to get room to organize the workshop. Besides being hard to cover all that is supposed to be, participants tend to have a broad range of skills and languages, thus language barrier.

On the other hand, offsite meetings are the kind of meetings that are meant to take place away from the institution. They enhance commitment as employees are able to engage without interaction of the daily duties. As a disadvantage, it is expensive to organize for the meeting due to the expenses incurred. Also, it is possible for a firm to implement strategic goals due to a lack of grounding.

When to Use Workshop And Offsite Meeting

Mostly, workshops are effective during the initial training of staff, during employee development, as well as at the beginning of something new. The goal of the training is to impart the participants with knowledge (Andler, 2016). Regarding the offsite meeting, it is effective when the management needs to discuss something very important to the workforce. Its main aim is to ensure total concentration by relieving employees of their daily activities.
