However, technology barriers are can occur, especially when the patients do not have access to appropriate technology. For example, a laptop may be needed by the patient. The use of telehealth nursing can lead to reduced continuity of care, especially when the patients may rely on technology more than the in-person sessions ( Kwon & Jang, 2017) . The practice cannot be applied in every situation, as some may require a physical examination. Insurance reimbursements may be a challenge as new rates must be set for the practice.

Computers with webcam, internet, telephones, and VOIP are some of the tools used in telehealth services. Patients with lifestyle diseases such as asthma and diabetes can benefit a lot from telehealth nursing. Consequently, populations living in rural areas and who may require a lot of time to get to hospitals can also benefit from the use of telehealth services ( Tupper et al., 2018) .
