The applications are revolutionizing the way the health consumers handle personal health care. For instance, the apps have made access and tracking of individual’s health and lifestyle in general very easy. They can be used by both the health care provider and the consumer to acquire the information they require to enhance healthcare outcomes as well as lower the costs (Athena health, 2018) . WellDoc’s Diabetes Manager is an application that captures blood-sugar information and relays it in real-time (Continuum, n.d.). The information tracked includes medication adherence, diet, glucose testing, exercise, and other diabetes-related conditions. The system then analyzes the data and provides the patient with personalized coaching on how to control and treat the medical condition. Additionally, the application promotes patient-physician interaction by assessing and evaluating the areas the patient requires close monitoring. Additionally, it assists physician with precise information that forms a basis for clinical decision-making.
