The problems I am having in locating sources for my project focusing on the Epic system, safety, privacy, and security (HIPAA) include getting a good source. Searching the web is time-consuming because I have to go through dozens of articles to find the information I want. The wording of an article, however, is not hard to comprehend. The site I have found useful is the Google Scholar journal database. The following are the two scholarly sources I located to use for my presentation:

The researchers presented findings on the system's use in the health system of the University of Virginia. The feasibility of improvement was determined by discussing error reduction in health care and the resulting improvements in patients' safety, a decrease in healthcare cost, and improvement in inter-disciplinary collaboration. However, the researchers discovered that the system’s effectiveness is questioned by recent news of breaches in security. The authors mentioned that technologies threaten the information system's safety because they potentially introduce hazards. The authors recommended a variety of strategies to eradicate risks and reduce barriers to digital health records’ implementation. Some key solutions provided include teamwork, leadership, adaptability, and flexibility. The researchers concluded that health care and its delivery systems’ safety, quality, effectiveness, and efficiency can be improved by maximizing Electronic Medical Records capacities.
