The participants selected for the study were nurses working providing health care in the trauma center. Non-probability methods were used to select trauma nurses because this population exhibited the variables under study in this research. The participants were selected randomly according to the department they worked in within the center. An analysis of the departments where the nurses experienced the highest burnout rates and perceived stress was therefore used as a benchmark to select the nurses because they had the highest probability of being affected.
A total of 83 participants were enrolled in the study even though only 75 participated in the research by answering questionnaires ( Munnangi, Dupiton, Boutin & Angus, 2018 ).

The sample size was determined by statistical index that was required to provide a measure of the variables being tested. Nurses were selected based on the trauma department they worked on within the health care institution. The objective of the study was to select an appropriate proportion of the nurses so that the results could be used to draw conclusions about the general population ( Adriaenssens, De Gucht & Maes, 2015 ).
Standard survey questionnaires were used as the main instruments for the research. A job descriptive index was used as a tool that provides an evaluation of individual feelings on job satisfaction based on other subscales.
The instruments used were directly linked to the research question of the study because they provided a comprehensive examination of the principle factors under study. The answers that were provided in the surveys provided a good analysis of a nurse’s results for analysis in the statistical section. The findings from the instruments were used to provide a clear picture of the burnout, perceived stress, and job satisfaction for nurses under extreme pressure in their line of work.
All the instruments and measures used in the experiment were described effectively within the institution. Standard survey questionnaires were used to measure principal factors including the personal and professional demographics, burnout, perceived stress and job satisfaction. This as pointed out in the methodology section of the paper. In addition to this, the 7 point Likert scale was also used alongside the descriptive index survey as an objective instrument to answer the research question ( Munnangi, Dupiton, Boutin & Angus, 2018 ).
The demographic characteristics of the participants was summarized by the descriptive statistics in the study. A Post hoc analysis was used to provide an exploration of job satisfaction for the nurses. Pearson’s correlation was used to draw the relationship between different various in the variables that were under study.
