As a young person, the thought of changing schools comes with a lot of mixed emotions. On one side you are happy that you are going to experience a new environment and on the other side you a sad because of all that you will be leaving behind especially the social ties. I remember every detail of how my parents broke the news that we were moving and that required me to change school.
“ We have been asking around for good schools in the new city and the best schools turn out to be boarding schools,” my dad said.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
“ What! I have never been to a boarding school my entire life,” I exclaimed.
“ Relax, you will just be away from Monday to Friday then on Saturdays’ you will come home for the weekend,” my mum said.
I had never in my entire life thought about a boarding school and what it entailed until this moment. Nevertheless, we moved to the new city after one month and after two days I reported to a new school. I must admit that the new school appeared very organized and more beautiful than my previous school from the first day. My parents stayed till I completed registration and then left just as lunch break was approaching.
My first encounter with my new schoolmates was during the lunch break. The population of this new school was way lower than my previous school. One of the teachers escorted me to the dining hall and to help me get acquainted with the new system. The food that was served for lunch that day didn’t look delicious at all and as soon as I tasted it my fears were confirmed. I couldn’t believe my parents had the guts to leave me at a school with such bad food. As I stood up to leave the dining hall someone tapped my shoulder and uttered, “Hey, I know you!” I turned around and realized that it was Chris my former classmate who had left my previous school a year ago. At least my first day in boarding school was not that bad at all, I had met someone I knew.
