Problems are increasing and becoming more complicated in the current dynamic society. Throughout life, people are living in constant challenges with some being hard to avoid. In most cases, getting the much needed help to cope with difficult situations is often difficult. As a result, humans are required to mobilize their indispensable nature of showing compassion and extending generosity to help each other. In this case, the sense of someone losing control of handling challenging situations is what makes me become compassionate and generous to others. Despite human services lacking appeal, my personal philosophy and drive add to my resounding resilience of contributing to the field. My desire may seem personal with some degree of naivety but, constructs a powerful encouragement that keeps me dedicated towards achieving my primary goal.
I come from a culture that appreciates and embraces the need to help others. Despite it sounding like a command, we consider it to be an integral part of the life of any human being. Apart from cultural influences, religious concepts have also had a huge impact on teaching me the importance of being able to care, be Altruistic, and love others irrespective of diversity. Without a doubt, all religions cultivate a culture of care, love, and respect for one another. Therefore, extending care and obligation towards human services not only becomes a societal requirement but also a religious prerequisite through which majority of people are bounded to. I also strongly believe that the most fulfilling thing is being in a position to do what one loves most. Therefore, working as a volunteer in community programs generates a nous of satisfaction and content that is more rewarding that monetary gains.

For as long as I can remember, I have always shown great interest in the interactions of human beings further building on my interest in social care. In my view, life experiences shape and determine how an individual would contribute to a particular area of interest. It provides a deeper understanding of real-life issues and places a person in different situations to foster growth ( O'Connor, 2015) . On top of that, life lessons provided a sense of determination in helping others cope with difficult situations. It also fosters a feeling of advocacy in fighting for the rights of the underserved populations.
When I came to this country, I realized that I should take advantage of this opportunity and indulge completely in the experience. What impressed me the most is that American people are very nice and helpful in a sense that the voluntary services are almost mandatory and the fact that more than 62 Million American have volunteered or contributed in the charitable organizations. The act of human services is mostly demonstrated through volunteering. Also, many of them have active membership in charitable organizations to donate on a frequent basis. However, I was surprised that there are numerous homeless people sleeping on cardboards or bare ground and going for days without having a proper meal. Therefore, despite countries being recognized as wealthy and developed, wealth disparities are significantly high. The Existence of wealthy people should warrant the facilitation of help and support to people instead of accumulating wealth for selfish gains. This means that human services should be increased and encouraged especially among wealthy individuals in a bid to help out the underserved populations.
On the other hand, my interest in social care is not only personal but also an academic curiosity that is based on theoretical foundations in the discipline of psychology. Coupled with social work, psychology is particularly stimulating and helpful in developing the well-being of people. In this light, I delved into volunteering in counseling young people as part of a local community project that focused on reducing the addiction among the youth. Services in mental health and substance abuse include counseling and emergency responses during crises. Connecting with people not only provides critical milestones that help patients cope with their struggles but also gives psychological help to addicts ( O'Connor, 2015) . Volunteering also acted as an educational platform where community members would be advised on how to promote their physical and mental health.
Previous work experiences that have honed my skills in human service have drawn me closer to the poor youth with substance abuse problems as a largely underserved population. The fact that I am also a youth increases my drive and motivation to serve my peers through social support. I also recognize the large gap between privileged and discriminated youths that deprives them of good education and an excellent foundation of starting to build their life. Serving and supporting the youth boost professionalism and skilled workforce capabilities while reducing the rate of crime. At their prime of education and work, the youth’s ability to propel an economy towards prosperity is momentous. Ignoring their needs would mean that society has an untapped potential that would be significantly beneficial ( McNall, Scott & Nicklin, 2015) . The focus on social support goes beyond individual care in dealing with family members who play a significant role in the lives of the youths.
The experience gained from social work volunteering is considerable and momentous. Have learned the value of cooperating and collaborating with others in a responsible manner that meets the needs of others. I, therefore, hope in investing time that aligns my needs and ambitions with what others want as a means of being emotionally intelligent. While reflecting on my personal dictum and character, forging long-lasting relationships would not be easy but is worthwhile in providing support to others. Human service is about tapping into the vulnerabilities of mankind while compassionate in order to help them cope with difficult situations.
I am also aptly motivated and committed to serving the needs of others as well as being an outgoing person who would want to contribute to the growth of the society. Currently, I am learning how to be an active listener who gives full attention to what people are saying while trying to understand them. Apart from social work, human service extends to healthcare and legal aspects among others ( McNall, Scott & Nicklin, 2015). Therefore, collaborating with other disciplines is paramount when providing a comprehensive approach to meeting human needs.
When I read about the courses available for this semester I found myself very excited for Human services courses. In light of this, I realized that taking the course is essential as it will substantially assist me to develop my critical skills, experiences, adhere to proper communication skills, and teamwork capabilities. At the same time, serving others relentlessly would enable me to move towards achieving my Charitable goals. As I continue to learn and develop ways of showing empathy and helping others in the entirety of my career, I will be reflecting on numerous ways that are creative in order to contribute momentously in the field of human services. In this regard, I strongly believe that my resounding competence to embrace the vulnerabilities of human weaknesses would meaningfully help others gain hope, care, inspiration, and endless support.
