The conflict in the Ugli Oranges case is the lack of enough resources. Both Dr. Garcia and Dr. Jones require the rare fruit Ugli Oranges for them to produce the newly innovated to cure Rudosen and AIDS, respectively. For that reason, they sought to compete for the limited fruits which Cardoza promised to sell to the higher bidder between the two.

Mainly, the TKI model of conflict management measures an individual’s behavior in a conflict. TKI seeks to define and describe individuals' in a conflicting situation based on their assertiveness and cooperativeness ( Fujita, 2018) . Assertiveness refers to the individual’s level of willingness to satisfy his/her concerns. For cooperativeness, it is the degree of a person to be willing to meet other people's needs. In the case of Dr. Garcia and Dr. Jones, it is essential to interview both of them and establish their behavior based on the two elements. The degree of assertiveness and cooperation shown by both parties will determine the most appropriate method to resolve the conflict.

TKI conflict management model has five methods that conflicting parties may adopt and resolve their differences. These include competing where individuals are assertive and uncooperative ( Goode & Wolf, 2019) . The second strategy is accommodating, which uses the element of cooperation. In avoiding, parties neither use assertiveness nor cooperation. Regarding collaboration, individuals use both cooperation and assertiveness. The last strategy of conflict management is compromising. Individuals are moderate in both assertiveness and cooperativeness to partly meet their interest and that of others ( Fujita, 2018)

As a negotiator, I would use accommodation to resolve the conflict between Dr. Garcia and Dr. Jones. The strategy entails getting the conflicting parties to neglect their interests and instead focus on meeting the needs of the other ( Cloke & Goldsmith, 2011) . Essentially, this strategy requires the parties to be selfless. In the case of Dr. Garcia and Dr. Jones, they both have companies that require the use of Ugli Oranges. However, the fruits are not enough for both firms to produce their medication. There is no way the two companies can get to produce drugs with the current number of Ugli fruits. Therefore, it is essential if one of the companies can forgo their need for manufacturing drugs and allow the other to purchase the fruits instead.
