The Oil wars and the Petroleum Era have a vital role in the development of modern business and capitalism, something that cannot be refuted by anyone because it is visually visible. Also, just like any other war, there are consequences, the 1991 Gulf War aftermath can still be traced up-to-date especially the environmental consequences like its effects on the air, terrestrial ecosystem, and the marine environment. Petroleum hydrocarbons in large quantities were exposed to the marine environment, and the oil spills were estimated to be over 1.7 million tons (DeFronzo, 2018). The other, identified aftermath of the wars is that Iraq was devastated, the war resulted in a vast refugee problem, and thousands of people died from it (Bunton).
