The Oil wars and the Petroleum Era have a vital role in the development of modern business and capitalism, something that cannot be refuted by anyone because it is visually visible. Also, just like any other war, there are consequences, the 1991 Gulf War aftermath can still be traced up-to-date especially the environmental consequences like its effects on the air, terrestrial ecosystem, and the marine environment. Several attempts had been developed to settle the wars and restore peace. However, the comprehensive settlement of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict was partially and partially not a prerequisite to maintain order for the Middle East and the U.S. Therefore; the essay aims at identifying the Gulf War consequences as well as discussing the comprehensive settlement of the Israeli-Palestinian.
In 1991, the Gulf War impacted the air, the terrestrial ecosystem, and the marine environment. The air pollution was as a result of the burning of over 600 wells, leading to emission of approximately 20, 000 tons of CO2 and 24, 000 of SO2 every day. Petroleum hydrocarbons in large quantities were exposed to the marine environment, and the oil spills were estimated to be over 1.7 million tons (DeFronzo, 2018). The other, identified aftermath of the wars is that Iraq was devastated, the war resulted in a vast refugee problem, and thousands of people died from it (Bunton).

The comprehensive settlement of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict was partially and partially not prerequisite to peace for the Middle East and the U.S since durable and just peace cannot be achieved in the Middle East until the abnormality with its grievances, privations as well as the injustice sense is remedied until a comprehensive answer to the Palestine issue is found (Steele, 2014). The greatest backlash of anti-American was generated by these grievances. Also, the act if imposing economic sanctions and hardships against Iraqi people was supported by the United States role in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. On the other hand, it is prerequisite to peace because it aided in easing the tension by eliminating major Arab grievance to the west hence making the region’s remaining issues more straightforward to address (The Elusive and Illusive Israel-Palestine Peace Process and The United States' Movement in the Middle East).
It is clear that the Gulf War consequences cannot be ignored and they include; the environmental impacts to the air via the emission of CO2 and SO2, the terrestrial ecosystem and the marine environment. Also, it led to the devastation of Iraq, the death of many people and many refuge problems arose. The comprehensive settlement of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict has also been identified to be partially and partially not a prerequisite to peace for the Middle East and the U.S.
