There are ten essential services that come along with the three core functions of public health. All nationals have the ministry of health where most of them operate under these three key functions. Public health operates under assessment, policy development and assurance as core functions. This essay, therefore, will look at how these functions deliver the ten essential services to the public.
The first core function is the assessment function where public health is required to monitor the environmental and health status of the public. The second core function of public health is policy development. Under this function, public health is able to deliver and provide several services to the people. The second service under this function is linking people to needed personal health survives and assuring the provision of health care when the care is not available to the linked destination. This helps the general public to avoid unfavorable health outcomes and medical costs associated. For public health to provide this service they identify a population that is faced with health services problems and assuring the linkage of this affected people is directed to effective health care providers.
The third service under the assurance that public health offer to the community is assuring a competent public and personal health care workforce. They achieve this through use of health workers who are competent and with skills. Making sure that the workforce that is used solves the health problem of a specific area and maintaining workforce standards are the main components of this service. Besides Day, P., Klein, R. (2012), health care evaluates effective’s accessibility and quality of health services. This is to know whether all the efforts which are previously meet the intended outcome through assessing accessibility and providing policymaker with the feedback for future modifications. Lastly, public health does its research for new insights and new innovations that would provide solutions to the health task in communities. Public health does this through fostering developments of a continuum which enables it to develop new solutions for the problem.
