George Washington is one of the greatest leaders in the American history. Though he never received a college education and originated from a humble background, George distinguishes himself as a moral and democratic leader. His character as a leader was different from his predecessors where he notably guided the U.S government with democracy. Jefferson’s life was impacted positively by this partnership. Even though his ideas criticized the leader in power, they were warmly debated on and reviewed for better future of the nation. The leadership skills attributed by George Washington are true testimony that all leaders need to emulate. Democratic leaders expect those who report to them to have in depth experience and self-confidence ( Edwards & Wayne, 2013) . Therefore, there is need of establishing a good and intelligent staff in any governing body so as to enable quick and accurate decisions making processes. George selected great philosophers, writers, editor and scientists in his staff for proper review of possible solutions. In today’s world, there is need of identifying a leader who possesses noble skills of leadership in any institution or organization. George Washington was a great leader and his leadership skills are worth being emulated by all leaders in the world. Self-esteem, confidence and motivation are key features of a good leader.
