The demographic composition in the US is ever-growing and changing. The diversity in population has increased cultural diversity in America. The demands on agencies that offers human service, such as healthcare, becomes greater day by day. The cultural background of patients have a profound effect on healthcare and its delivery, and every doctor should understand this concept. Most medical schools and healthcare providers have integrated cultural competency to help deal with the diversity in the country. Cultural values and beliefs influence healthcare and its delivery through communication, doctor-patient interaction, health outcomes, and health disparities (Halligan, 2008) . Doctor-patient communication is crucial in healthcare. Developing an understanding helps doctors to access all information they would need about a patient. The values of patients and care providers is also essential in improving healthcare. Despite the diversity in the US, most patients and doctors uphold value, which enables them to have a civilized conversation with the care providers. The care providers, regardless of their origin, are expected to conduct themselves professionally. Having people who uphold reputable personal values has helped improve healthcare and its delivery in the United States.

The beliefs of individuals are also fundamental in healthcare and its delivery. Most of the beliefs depend on the cultural and religious background of people. Most of the US citizens are Christians and lack negative beliefs towards religion. However, some groups are against practices, such as blood donations, due to religious and cultural affiliations. This influences healthcare and how it is delivered. Doctors normally have to get other means of providing care to the patient if they disagree with the normal practice. Often, people with such beliefs do not receive the best care, which results in negative outcomes. In the US, most people are not tied to such negative beliefs. In addition, care providers are able to provide compassionate care due to their cultural and religious affiliations (Hordem, 2016) . This has improved the health of most people and how the care is delivered. Lack of complications makes it easier to deliver quality care, thereby promoting health in the population.
