The government plays a very crucial role in healthcare diffusion. Once a new technology is innovated, it requires several factors for it to spread to other areas all over the world, this process of technology spread is known as diffusion. The government formulates and implements policies that determine the devices and medicines that will be available within a given country. The government mostly regulates the health sector; thus the government influences the amount of public funding directed to the health care and adoption of new technologies. Regulatory bodies such as the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the USA, control the technology used in the production of drugs as well as the standards. It is clear that the government will determine how medical technology spreads around the world.
