There was a greater difference between the Massachusetts Bay and Colony and the Virginia colony. However, there were some similarities between the two bays. For instance, there progression of the economies was similar. Their ideas which were used to develop were also similar since both the bays relied heavily on the slavery business to develop their colony. Alternatively, the two colonies showed similarities in their trends in development as both stated from scratch used slavery to advance to high position. Also, the two colonies had similarities on their hope of development.
There difference which was noted in many aspects for instance economy. The Virginia colony relied heavily on the cash crop plantation which they use there slavery advantage to thrive in. They mainly grew tobacco and other staple food which flourished throughout the colony. On the other hand, the Massachusetts was not cash crop growers. They colony was not reliant on farming. The colony relied heavily on artisan industry like carpentry, printing and ship building. This was a major difference that was evident between the two colonies. Alternatively, the two colonies differ on the way they treated their slaves. For instance, the slaves in Virginia had torrent time. They faced all manner of oppression through their life. They were subjected to hard labor. They underwent whipping and faced murder on a daily basis. This was different from the salves in Massachusetts who were quite reliant on the some easy work such house maids and many others. They faced less oppression and discrimination. Only a few died on the way ( Mansfield-Richardson, 2014).
